Julia Edelman
Julia is an accomplished writer, health advocate, and workshop facilitator. She has been contributing for The New Yorker since 2015, and her writing has been featured in The New Yorker’s “Not to Be Missed Shouts” lists. She also ran a dating column at The New Yorker, called Dating Material.
She is the author of “Love Voltaire Us Apart: A Philosophers' Guide to Relationships" (Icon Books).
She has written on various topics, covering entertainment, food, art, music and health. Her work has been featured in People, New York Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Cosmopolitan, McSweeney’s, Food and Wine, The Believer, SPIN, Double Blind, The Washington Post, Bezzy and more.
She has also written for animated TV shows such as Ben 10 on Cartoon Network, and Power Players on Netflix. She sold her own original animated show, Wallflower, to Freeform.
As a facilitator, she leads Embodied Writing Workshops all over the world, and incorporates writing, art, and movement to inspire creativity and create community. She holds an advanced certificate in Health & Wellness, and has taught workshops in New York, Florida, and internationally in Thailand and Indonesia.
Her book, “Love Voltaire Us Apart: A Philosophers' Guide to Relationships," was initially based on this viral New Yorker piece.
